June Club Meeting

There will not be a club meeting for the month of May due to the many club events that month.
The next meeting is scheduled for Sunday June 5th. at the Home Beer Wine and Cheese Making Shop in Woodland Hills.
Are you new to brewing? Have you been brewing for a while, and are you looking for a group of fellow home brewers to hang out with? Come on by the shop for a fun filled afternoon with The Maltose Falcons. We are the oldest home brew club in the United States.

ColLAboration Beer Garden Event #1 - Tony's Darts Away

A special series of "pop-up" beer festivals are being organized by the operators of some of LA's finest Craft Beer Bars (Tony’s Darts Away, Verdugo Bar, Blue Palms, 38 Degrees and Surly Goat). Tony's Darts Away is first in the chute as they celebrate 1 year of operation! You must buy a glass to gain your entry!

Club Brew - Mark's Chipotle Porter

The April club shop brew has been set for Sunday the 10th. Our Burgermeister, Mark Poliner, will be leading this brew day with his Chipotle Porter. It is going to be unique.

You will be brewing on the club's 30 gallon all grain system at the Home Beer Wine and Cheese Making Shop. You will learn the basics of the system, and participate in all aspects of the brewing session, including clean up. Each member will take home 5 gallons of wort at a really inexpensive price to ferment at home. It is a really great deal!

Brew 101 Class - April

Do you love great craft beer? Have you had thoughts of brewing your own but did not know how to get started? Well do we have the class for you!

The Maltose Falcons offer a Brew 101 course at the Home Beer Wine and Cheese Making Shop in Woodland Hills every second Tuesday of the month. This course is designed for the beginning brewer, and uses the basic equipment and ingredient kits sold at the shop.

Our Grand Hydrometer will be rocking with a Bock tasting to get us rolling. Hear the story of Bock beer. Special Note: if you have a homebrewed Bock that you'd like considered for the club's entry in the AHA Club Only Competition, bring it! We'll choose the best to go on and do battle with clubs across the country!

Our burgermeisters will be offering a home cooked lunch

And of course there'll be beer galore for the tasting!

AFC/QUAFF Entry Dropoff Deadline

Its Americas Finest City/ Quaff contest time again down in S.D.

I will be at the shop on Sat. Feb 5th at 11:00am sharp, if you want your entries driven down for the contest please have them to the clubhouse before then.

Dont forget to 1) pre-register entries on the quaff contest site and 2) include a check with your entry.
