Bockor Flemish Sour Blending Seminar
Hosted By:
Artisanal Imports
Brouwerij Bockor-Sam Quartier, Brewmaster
The Seminar…
Our goal of these events is to educate attendees on the longstanding history and artisanal process of West Flemish sour brewing and blending. There are very few traditional brewers and blenders in the world and this is a unique opportunity to learn from an expert. Never before have these seminars been conducted by a Belgian brewer in the US, so this is a very rare and limited opportunity. Outlined below are details of the seminar as planned, but of course we understand each of these limited seminars will have some differing elements.
The Beer…
We will be providing 1-1/6bbl keg of “new” West Flemish sour and 1-1/6bbl keg of “aged” West Flemish sour
The Samples…
There will be 5 samples provided of the new, aged and lambic blends along with a sample of the Cuvee des Jacobins Rouge as the closing sample. Each of the samples will be roughly 3 ounces in size.
The Attendees…
We welcome all interested parties but see a keen interest on behalf of the local brewing community, beer writers, and avid beer fans. With product provided we anticipate being able to accommodate 60 people.
We anticipate the formal portion of the seminar to last roughly 1 hour although we would anticipate it will flow into an informal period where attendees can discuss and ask questions with your Artisanal representatives and Sam Quartier.
The Fee…
$ 20.00 per person, 4 Cheese plate will be provided with Munchies/snacks for the tasting
Cuvee des Jacobins Rouge on tap!!
The seminars should be a great time and with only 2 of them being held in Southern California. This is a unique opportunity to educate your local area about one of the oldest traditions of Belgian brewing/blending and an exploding category in the US market.
Cheers!!
