The Merlin Cup shall be awarded to the Maltose Falcons member that garners
the most points and has taken a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, place in a BJCP sanctioned
competition. The winner of the Merlin Cup shall be known as;
“The Maltose Falcons Homebrewer of the Year”
Points are awarded as follows:
One point for an entry of a beer to any BJCP sanctioned contest.
Two additional points for an entry awarded third in category in any BJCP
sanctioned contest.
Four additional points for an entry awarded second in category in any BJCP
sanctioned contest.
Six additional points for an entry awarded first in category in any BJCP
sanctioned contest.
Eight additional points for an entry awarded Best of Show in any BJCP
sanctioned contest or Club-Only contest
Two additional points for an entry awarded 2nd runner up to the Best of Show.
Four additional points for an entry awarded 1st runner up to the Best of Show.
Exceptions and considerations:
Three points for "Best Brew of the Month" for homebrewed beers presented at
our monthly meetings or festivals.
Three points for an entry chosen to represent the Falcons in a Club-Only
Contest.
AHA Nationals will count as two contests. If a brewer's entry goes on to the
second round it will considered being in a second contest with one additional
point for entry and any points awarded (same as for BJCP above) for placing 1st,
2nd, or 3rd. Proof of entry and/or award must be presented by the brewer in order
to claim the points.
As the purpose of the Merlin Cup is to encourage brewers to enter their bona
fide homebrewed beer into contests, the contest committee will be charged with
resolving any protests, complaints or issues insuring the fairness and integrity of
the Merlin Cup Contest's process."

Your name,
Competition name and date,
Number of entries,
Entries placed in style category; 1st, 2nd, or 3rd,
Entries judged in the BOS round; BOS, 1st Runners up, and 2nd Runners up,
We may request more information to determine the winner.
