IBU math question!

A customer wanted me to measure out "enough Magnum for 200 IBUs". I called him and asked him what he meant and he said that the magnum is the bittering hop for all his 5 gallon batches. He needs 15 IBUs here, 30 IBUs there, ect. When he adds all his IBUs up from across his batches it is around 200. So he needes the amount that will satisfy that. So can anyone think of a way to calculate that amount? I know it will change by pre-boil gravity and such but Im looking for a ballpark equation.

My Brewing Journey

I am a newbe with only eight 5-gallon batches so far. The brewing experiences and lessons learned are documented on my beer blog Here it is...

Presidents Report November 2017 - Volunteerism

CullenNewsletter image.pngVOLUNTEERISM
President's Report - November, 2017
By Cullen Davis, Maltose Falcons Board President

I honestly don’t mind doing President duty for the Falcons. It’s a relatively low-stress job, mostly just prodding people into doing what they said they would, trying to keep the club on the right path. Soreheads are thankfully rare when there is good beer to be shared. The benefits are decent too, the club buys beer for the board and we get to hang out and shoot the shiz on an extra day every month.

Rails to Grails: A Review of the 2016 L.A. Beer Week Kickoff Festival

For a beer enthusiast like me, there's nothing better than a rip-roaring beer festival featuring lots of different beers to taste. The 2016 L.A. Beer Week Kickoff Festival, organized by the Los Angeles Brewers Guild and held at the L.A. Center Studios on June 18, certainly qualifies as that kind of “holy grail” for me – and after all, the grail in some references is a drinking vessel. Since I rode the rails in the form of the MTA's light-rail Expo line to get there, you can see how my title for this article came about.

The Neighborhood Brewery: Three Weavers Brewing Co.

The Neighborhood Brewery By Bruce L. Brode I've been a homebrewer for more than 30 years. In that time, I have seen a revolution in beer continuing in many areas and ways, most recently in the area of craft breweries opening in the Los Angeles area. There were previous efforts – in the mid-1980s I remember the City of Angels brewpub in Santa Monica in the space long since occupied by Border Grill, which was funded by those who had made some good bucks in the “go-go” days of the stock market of the early-to-mid 1980s employed at the defunct Drexel Burnham Lambert investment house.
