The AHA is coming back to the region and so it's time for us to kick some ass and take some names!
What goes on at the conference? A couple of awesome parties with pros and homes. A rock and roll hospitality suite with homebrew pouring until you just can't stand it now more. Seminars that in the past have included such names as Randy Mosher, Ray Daniels, Stan Heirnoymous, Jamil Zainasheff and *cough*Drew Beechum. Basically 3 days of you and ~1300 other homebrewers getting their beer geek on. Conference prices will be annouced in November (along with the special hotel rate at a really amazing hotel). In the past the rate has run ~$230 for a full conference pass which is cheap for all the stuff you get. There are lower priced "Social" packages as well that don't include the seminars or Banquet.
The conference will be in San Diego from 6/16-6/18. The rough schedule of events include:
Weds. 6/15
Preconference events - Pub Crawls, Ball games, Brewery tours, etc (all TBD)
Thurs. 6/16
Morning - NHC Second Round Judging
Afternoon - NHC Second Round Judging / Seminars / Opening Toast
Evening - Pro Brewer's Night - Brewers from all around Southern California will pour thier beer.
Friday 6/17
Morning - Seminars
Afternoon - Keynote Address / Seminars
Evening - Club Night - Think a mini SCHF on Steroids. This is where homebrew really gets to shine.
Saturday 6/18
Morning / Afternoon - Seminars
Evening - The Grand Banquet (with awesome food by Sean Paxton, Homebrew Chef) - Come see who wins awards and maybe, just maybe watch the Falcons kick some butt.
