Blue Frog Grog & Grill

I find myself in Solano county wanting dinner.  I just came back from touring the Jelly Belly factory (what fun) and was looking for  libation during the Lakers (Flakers) game.  Accross the street from my hotel was a local brewpub called the Blue Frog.   Why "the Blue Frog"? Apparently the founders/owners have been singing the Peter, Paul & Mary song since they were first married.

I'm in love with a big blue frog,
A big blue frog loves me.
It's not as bad as it appears
He wears glasses and he's six foot three

I started with their beer sampler (7 samplings) of the hefe, blonde, IPA, red ale, maibock and rye ale.   The maibock and rye were their seasonal offerings.   My favorite was the rye.  For an appatizer I ordered the roasted garlic.  It came with 2 heads of roasted garlic, melted brie, tomato chutney and pizza bread.

For the main course I ordered the cowboy steak.  It was a center cut sirloin steak and  came heavily seasoned with roasted garlic and black pepper.  It was served with mashed and steamed vegtables.  My only problem was the steak had a big wad of fat that was not trimmed before cooking.   I lost about 1/4 of the steak to fat.  Otherwise the service, beer and food were worth the trip.

Tomorrow after court I'm going to take the Budweiser tour.
