Drew's 45 IPA

Drew turned 45 and what better way to celebrate turning 45 than making a birthday brew. Together we created an IPA with a nominal starting gravity of 1.074 and 74 IBUs (to reflect Drew's 1974 birthday), the beer used 4 malts, 5 hops with 45% and 45% of the malts being two base malts. The hops include a special addition - hop terpenes of Citra and Columbus for the keg

Mashing Instructions: 

Mash for 60 minutes at 151°F

Raise to mashout at 168°F for 10 minutes

Hops: 

6 oz Warrior 16%AA 60 minutes

5 oz Cascade 7%AA Whirlpool for 20 minutes at 174°F

5 oz Citra 11%AA Whirlpool for 20 minutes at 174°F

5.5 oz Columbus 15%AA Whirlpool for 20 minutes at 174°F

50gm Citra/Columbus Terpene Extract - added at keg (per 5 gallon keg)

Extra Ingredients: 

Gypsum to raise to bitter dry profile.
