MALTOSE FALCON MEMBERSHIP MEETING- APRIL 3, 2011
Today was Bock day as we called in Bocks for our COC competition. Our winner was Erick Garcia! We had 50 people at our meeting today and it went something like this.
GRAND HYDRO-DREW THE GRAND HYDROMETER
Being that spring is in the air and that our COC was today. Drew treated us to the wonderful world of Bocks. All kinds of Bocks. There were as follows:
1. Einbecker Bock
2. Rogue Dead Guy
3. Priamator Bock
4. Abita Andygator
5. Aventinus Weisen Eisbock (the crowd favorite for the day)
6. Schlenkler Oak Smoke Doppelbock
Drew also brought up that SCHF will be here before ya know it. Make sure to sign up now, not only for going, but to let us know what kegs you will be bringing for the masses. Remember, that you must be a member of the SCHF to attend.
We also are getting ready for the AHA in beautiful San Diego. You can still sign up to go. We are also looking for your beers. Let’s show everyone why the Falcons are the Anchor Homebrew Club Champions!
SPECIAL GUEST FROM SAM ADAMS- CAITLIN DE CLERQ
Caitlin DeClerq of the Boston Brewery not only brought some great brews to us today but came to talk to us about the Longshot Competition that is coming up. She won last year and got a trip to Oktoberfest. The grand prize is $5,000.00. It costs nothing to enter. Entries must be received between May 9th and May 20th. Anything goes! Everything is listed under Category 23. And the winner will go to Boston to brew with the Sam Adams Brewers. Name your beer and send it on in. The judges will be a combination of people from Beer Advocate and Samuel Adams, plus Jim Cook.
