UPDATE TO THE UPDATE - Results are being held for the Fest on Saturday. Apparently we're doing this old school, but By Grabthar's Hammer, the results will be up Saturday night!
UPDATE - It took a while (Damn you Southern California Homebrewer's Fest!), but the IPA's are judged. Best of Show should happen on Thursday and then the results will be announced!
A great time was had by all that attended the Mayfaire 2012 competition judging at the The Lab Brewing Co in Agoura Hills on Saturday the 28th of April. Thank you Roger for hosting us and providing a very delicious lunch!
The Maltose Falcons Mayfaire competition this year was a great success. We had a record number of entries, 504 being the final total! This was almost 200 more than last year and about 170 more than the previous record! The Maltose Falcons sends out a big Thank You to everybody who entered and to those who helped judge!
Due to the record number of entries, even with several preliminary judgings, the assembled group of over 40 judges could only get thru 26 of the 27 classes on Saturday. We still have one more class to judge followed by the Best of Show Round. We are planning on doing these the week of May 7th. Once we have our Best of Show winner, score sheets will be emailed out to all participants.
Thank you for your patience and thank you for helping make this year's Mayfaire the biggest and best yet!

It was indeed a great event. A lot of the judges came up to me afterwards and said it was one of the most well-organized comps that they had been to. They appreciated the attention of the stewards (big thanks to all of you stewards!!!) and loved the venue and the wonderful lunch. They were also very impressed with the beautiful glass they were given for all their outstanding work. Three cheers to Roger of The Lab and congratulations to the VPs and Comp Comm who pulled it all together.
