Brew with a Falcon Day

It's back! Time for our second annual (first annual - wait what is it when you on the first repeat, but second event? - regardless, it's our second time with BwaF) Sunday March 22nd, a few members of the club, will be opening up their homes to other folks to brew together. Most of these sites will be unlike a shop brew - there will be no wort for members to take home. Instead, brewers will signup and on Sunday March 22nd you'll go to your chosen location and hang out, learn and help out. Here are the sites as they exist today:

Mayfaire Party!

Join us for our annual Mayfaire fest on May 17th 2014 that will be held again at the popular KOA in Acton. The camp is located on the bank of the Santa Clara River about 25 miles away from the north SF Valley. It has cottonwood trees, flat grassy tent area, a lodge with sink & cooking facilities, swimming pool, volley ball court, shuffle board, horse shoes, and playground equipment for kids, etc. There is also a large wooden deck area that accommodates our own Maltose Falcons Brews Band and dancing Falcons and their partners just fine.

Firestone Walker Anniversary Brew Event

For those of you that haven't heard, we have been invited to brew at Firestone Walker Brewery by their head brewer Matt Brynildson. We will be brewing 67 barrels of a very big beer that will be added to their anniversary blending beers for next years anniversary blend and for as many years as it lasts, as well as having some on tap at the Falcons 40th anniversary party. The Falcons Board decided to brew a high alcohol American Brown Ale that I dubbed a "Browneywine"

Dark Lagers Club Only Comp Judging

We will be judging Dark Lagers for the AHA Club Only Competition at the January 8th meeting. Bring in yours and we will select one to represent the Falcons!

To enter your beer, bring six unlabeled bottles and your recipe to the club meeting listed below. We will create a judges panel to select the best beer to represent the club. Cheers and GOOD LUCK!

Mayfaire Festival

Announcing the results of our annual competition seems as good as any reason to have a party!

We have space reserved at Oak Park in Simi Valley where we will camp, pour beer and have an all around good time.

We are attempting to have a beer auction as a little fund-raiser, so bring beer donations! We will also enjoy an appearance from the Maltose Falcons Brews Band, fresh off their triumphant tour of San Francisco.
