Hello Falconettes - get ready for a very special Maltose Falcons event. Join former Maltose Falcons Board President Nancy Gold for a very special Falconettes Club Shop Brew Session for female club members only, coming up on Sunday, March 23 at the Home Beer Wine and Cheese Making Shop in Woodland Hills. Nancy will lead the crew in brewing a Ballast Point Sculpin IPA clone, using the recipe that Ballast Point originally used, called North Star IPA.
Falcons, you won't want to miss the next monthly Club Shop Brew Session, coming up on Sunday, Feb. 16, as club president John Aitchison takes on a very rare and special beer - Dortmunder Adambier. John is a certified beer judge, and he leads the club's Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) training course, and he's won five medals with this recipe, so this is a terrific opportunity to learn from an a highly accomplished brewer.
For the next Club Shop Brew Session set for Saturday, January 18, 2014, we're continuing the Maltose Falcons 40th Anniversary theme by inviting Michael Bowe to lead the brew session. Michael was a long-time Falcons member, who started out homebrewing ended up opening Angel City Brewing.
The December Club Shop Brew on Sunday, Dec 29, will bring back a recipe that has become a club legend - Old Smokey Barleywine. Join brew crew leader Richard Webster to brew this famously delicious barleywine using Falcon Tom Wolf's original recipe, which has won too many awards to name here. This is a big, rich, deep, complex beer that needs love and a long fermentation time, so we must brew it now to have it ready to pour at the Maltose Falcons 40th Anniversary Banquet.

Esteemed Board Member and brewer-without-a-place-to-brew Steve Cook stepped forward to lead the November 2013 Club Shop Brew Session and make an English Old Ale. Apologies for getting this date set with such short notice!
Our monthly Club Shop Brew had to be re-scheduled for Sunday, October 20th at 8:00 a.m. Phone calls were placed and an email message sent to all who were signed up. Hope to see you on the 20th!
Esteemed Board Member and Brew Tech Wizard Kent Fletcher has volunteered to lead the session this month to make his Holiday Ale. He has brewed it for a number of years running and it's always just the thing for the chilly months ahead. Don't miss this special seasonal brew, sign up now!
Our monthly Club Shop Brew is scheduled for Sunday, September 15th at 8:00 a.m. Esteemed Board Member Cullen Davis (me, Mr. Publicity Director!) has volunteered to lead the session this month to make some fine and delicious stout. We have not yet decided on which of the various subspecies of stouts we will brew, but the brewer tends to favor the richer, fuller-bodied side of the spectrum. Regardless of the exact recipe, it will be a fun and enlightening session as usual.
Still plenty of spots for tomorrow's shop brew. We will be brewing a Belgian Golden Strong Ale (Think Duvel, Russian River Damnation, Delirium Tremens, Piraat, or North Coast Pranqster).
Our monthly Club Shop Brew is set for next Sunday, July 14th at 8:00 a.m. Tim Burt and Tom Sisolak will co-lead the session this month. The style has not yet been settled but there is talk of doing a crisp, refreshing summer saison with extra hop kick. Regardless what they end up making, these two fellows are capable, enthusiastic brewers and it should be a rewarding session all around.
Our monthly Club Shop Brew is set for next Sunday, June 9th at 8:00 a.m. Mr. Treasurer, Kent Fletcher and Madam Ex-President, Nancy Gold will take over leading the crew this month for a batch of a clone recipe of Allagash's Curiuex, the famous big, oaky, Belgian-y brew. They are well known for their excellent brews and brewing smarts so it should be a great session!
