Falcons, we have another opportunity to have a very special brew session at a brewery, this time care of Falcons Alex Samovitz and Donovan Nebreklievski, brewmasters at the newly opened Westlake Brewing Co. Westlake has offered to let 9 Falcons members sign up to participate in this hands-on brew session in the brewery, making a Westvleteren 12 clone using yeast from a single bottle of Westy that John Aitchison has cultivated, and taking 5 gallons of wort to ferment at home .
Get ready for a very special Maltose Falcons event - the Annual Ladies Brew Session on Sunday, May 15th!!
Falcons former Prez and current Member at Large Nancy Gold & Activities Director Tiffany Ashrafi will lead an all-women brew crew in making a Firestone Union Jack Clone - Nancy is known for her expertise in brewing IPAs (and Tiffany really enjoys drinking them).
Our annual Brew With a Falcon day is set for Saturday, June 25th! Here's the skinny: a few members of the club, will be opening up their homes to other folks to brew together. Most of these sites will be unlike a shop brew - there will be no wort for members to take home. Instead, brewers will signup and on Saturday, June 25th you'll go to your chosen location and hang out, learn and help out.
Falcons, prepare yourselves for a very special Club Brew Session! This month, Co-Vice President and past President and the Falcons' unofficial lager Emperor John Aitchison will lead the crew in brewing a rare and delicious authentic Czech dark lager at his shop, Tavern Services, on Saturday, March 19. John has a smaller system than the club's system at the Home Beer Wine and Cheese Making Shop, so there are 5 slots open.
Falcons, sign up now for the February Club Shop Brew Session Sunday, Feb. 21 as Bernard Lebel leads the crew in brewing a hoppy American amber ale. Knowing Bernard, this brew day will involve sampling some extremely high gravity beers and smoking cigars. Kudos to Bernard for stepping up, it's his first time leading a Shop Brew!
